The Naked Heart Foundation has commented on its plan to dismantle a playground located in Saransk. The Foundation opened the playground back in 2008 as part of the Play with Purpose programme. Subsequently, the playground was handed over to the town’s Culture and Recreation Park under a gratuitous use agreement.
After building any playground, the Naked Heart Foundation concludes a gratuitous use agreement with the local administration. It keeps track of all its play facilities, monitoring their condition and maintenance by the local administrations.
In 2014, the Naked Heart playground in Saransk required renovation. Our partner KSIL conducted the renovation works, which came to 137,000 roubles. All the costs were covered by the Foundation.
In April 2018 at the initiative of the Foundation, the Saransk administration and an independent contractor inspected the play equipment to check that it still met safety requirements. The inspection indicated that the majority of the equipment was worn out and needed to be demolished.
The Park administration will demolish the playground in the first half of October 2018, immediately after the summer season.
